Search for a phrase or choose a level. The time filter describes the sample recording, not the whole lesson.
Use an -ing clause for an action happening at the same time or as a result, a past participle clause for a passive meaning, and having plus a past participle for an earlier completed action. Make sure both parts of the sentence have the same understood subject.
Build a passive with a form of be and a past participle. Keep the tense in be: is being checked, has been checked, and should have been checked. With reporting verbs, use It is reported that ... or a subject pattern such as The route is reported to be safe.

Use people as the normal plural of person. Use persons mainly in fixed formal wording, such as rules, reports, or legal documents.

Use persecute when someone is targeted with persistent harmful treatment. Use prosecute for the usual legal meaning of bringing or conducting a case against a person. The first verb is about the treatment of a target; the second is about a legal action.
A phobia is an intense fear of a particular thing or situation that may lead someone to avoid it.
Platonic means based on friendship or affection rather than romance or sexual attraction.
Poignant means deeply moving or emotionally touching, especially in a gentle, sad, or tender way.
Start by recognizing the other person's idea. Then state your different view with a reason, concern, or question that the other person can answer.
