Start with the relationship and audience. A familiar local expression can make a message efficient among people who share it. When readers come from different English backgrounds, add a plain explanation or choose a wider-known phrase.
Treat regional English as real English
English is used in many places, and local communities develop useful patterns of their own. Indian English is an established variety. An expression may sound ordinary to one reader and unfamiliar to another, just as the same happens with British, American, Singaporean, or Nigerian English.
