English contractions: natural short forms in speech and writing

What do you remember about this?

Show explanation

A contraction is a short form made by joining two words with an apostrophe. I’m means I am, don’t means do not, and she’ll means she will. Use contractions freely in ordinary conversation and informal writing, but use the full words when a formal task, clarity, or emphasis makes them a better choice.
