The short answer
Use will be plus an -ing verb for an action that will be happening at a future time. For example, This time next week, we will be staying near the coast.
This time next week, we will be staying near the coast.
Why it works: The stay will be in progress at the future time next week.

First, identify the future time in the situation. Then ask whether the action will be underway at that time. If it will, will be plus the -ing form is often the clearest choice.
Picture the action in the middle of the future
Use the future continuous when you want the listener to imagine an activity already happening at a future moment. A time phrase often makes that moment clear.
At this time tomorrow, our plane will be crossing the Atlantic.
The flight will be underway tomorrow. The sentence does not focus on its departure or arrival.
At noon, Sam will be meeting a client.
Meeting the client will be in progress at noon.
Which future activity is underway at noon: will be meeting or will meet?
Will be meeting. The -ing form presents the activity as ongoing at that time.
Build the form with will be and an -ing verb
The form is subject plus will be plus the -ing form. Will does not change with the subject, so the pattern stays the same with I, you, she, and they.
She will be leading the workshop next Tuesday.
Will be leading is the complete future continuous verb phrase.
We will be waiting near the entrance.
After be, use waiting, not wait or waited.
Complete the sentence: They will be ____ at the hotel. Choose arrive or arriving.
Use arriving. The main verb after will be needs the -ing form.
Use a future time as the reference point
The future continuous often answers the question what will be happening then? The reference point may be an exact time, a day, or another future event.
This evening, the children will be sleeping by eight.
Eight is the future point at which sleeping is expected to be underway.
When the guests arrive, we will be setting the table.
Setting the table will be in progress when the guests arrive.
Do not put will in both parts of a time clause. Say When the guests arrive, not When the guests will arrive, unless will has a special meaning such as willingness.
Describe an expected routine or temporary situation
The tense can describe something that is expected to happen as part of a future plan or routine. It is useful when the situation feels temporary or limited to a future period.
During July, our office will be operating with a smaller team.
Operating with a smaller team is expected to continue during that future month.
My sister will be living with us while her apartment is repaired.
Living with us is temporary and will be ongoing during the repair period.
Which form emphasizes the temporary situation: My sister will live with us, or My sister will be living with us?
Both can be correct, but will be living makes the temporary ongoing arrangement clearer.
Ask politely about arrangements
A future continuous question can be a polite way to ask about someone's plans. It often sounds less demanding because it asks what is expected to happen rather than telling someone what to do.
Will you be using the projector this afternoon?
The speaker wants to know about the other person's expected arrangement before making a request.
Will you be attending the training session tomorrow?
The question asks about an anticipated plan, not whether the listener should decide now.
Context still matters. If you need to make a direct request, use a clear request form instead of relying on tense alone.
Make negatives and choose a nearby future form
Put not after will to make a negative: will not be working. In everyday speech, won't be is common. Use the simple future when an action or prediction matters more than its progress, and use the present continuous when you are naming a fixed arrangement.
I won't be checking messages during the presentation.
Won't be checking says that checking messages will not be in progress during the presentation.
I am meeting the designer at 2 p.m.
The present continuous is natural here because the speaker is naming a fixed personal arrangement.
Choose the form for a prediction about a finished result: The package will arrive, or The package will be arriving?
Use The package will arrive when the result of arrival is the main point. Use will be arriving when you want to focus on the arrival as an activity around a future time.
Before you go
Remember this
Use will be plus an -ing verb to show an activity in progress at a future time. Add a future time phrase when it helps. Use the same form for every subject, put will before the subject in a question, and use won't be for a negative.
